Flybig Airlines received a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its Air Operator's Certificate (AoC) on 14 December 2020. The airline began operations with a single ATR-72-500, focusing on serving Tier-2 cities. Flybig aims to build a fleet of additional ATR-72s and HAL-manufactured Dornier 228 aircraft, with a goal of expanding to a fleet of 20. Before starting scheduled flights, Flybig won its first route under a government tender to serve Shillong from Delhi. Flights commenced on 21 December 2020, and the airline conducted proving flights on 4 December 2020. The first scheduled flight was operated on 3 January 2021, from Indore to Ahmedabad.

Flybig does not have provisions for pets, except for service animals, which must be trained, vaccinated, muzzled, and have a moisture-absorbent mat underneath.
c. Refund and Cancellation Policy
- General Refund Information: Refunds for unused bookings or portions thereof will be made in accordance with Flybig’s regulations, after deducting applicable fees, charges, and taxes.
- Refund Processing Times:
- Credit/Debit Cards: Refunds processed within seven working days from the date of refund request.
- Net Banking: Refunds processed into the same bank account.
- Travel Partners/Online Portals: Refunds may be claimed from respective agents/portals.
- Cash/Card Swipe at Airport: Refunds processed through NEFT within seven working days after filling the requisite refund form at the airport.
